Lucy Reynolds' death is mentioned in a letter from A and Susan McLeod written on May 17, 1856.

Warrior Stand May 17th 1856
Dear brother I seate my self down to rite you a few lines to inform you that we are all well at present
hopinge that these few line will find you all well my self and Susan has bin to see Abner Nash and famaly
on a visit Nancy Nash was very unwell She has very bad health tha live in Pique (Pike) County Ala about
28 miles South of Warrior Stand Nash has 120 acres of land Ambrose Scarbrough and famaly is well tha
live 9 miles from us Ambrose is giting alonge very well he has 5 working hands Robert his oldest son is
teaching chool his chool will be worth 500 dollars this year.
I can inform you that Lucy Reynolds dide the 2 day of April 1856 she was complaninge 2 day she was
struck down with spasms she livd 24 hours and dide without a strugel she never spoke after she was struck
down she had one sapsm after another.

and never spoke after she was taken She protest to have a hope in the blood of Christ 3 or 4 months before
she did Newman is as well as common he dont have very good health at no time John Reynolds is livinge
in Barbor county he is a doctor he has made a great eal by it He has over 3000 acors of land in Barbor
County he has about 1000 acors in Louisiana Emaline Williams has 3 daughters Jackson Williams has
been sick for 3 or 4 weks with the inflamatory fevor he is a methodist Preacher Lemuel Reynolds is living
with his father he earn mared Elin (Ellen) Williams who marred Lysanbe Williams has 4 children 3 girls
and 1 boy William Reynolds is a doctor he lives at the Stand he eant marred Lucey A who marred Rufus
White has 2 children one Boy and 1 Girl tha live in Pique (Pike) County Ala we have 10 children ower
youngest is goinge in 4 years old.

Since Febrary last tha are all livinge with us yet except James he is teaching chool near Tuskegee 15 miles
north of us his chool will be worth 3 or 4 hundred dollars I am stayinge at horn this year I have bin ridinge
the two past years as constable and debty Shumfwe have 50 acors in cotton 40 in corn and 1 have 197
acors of land and two old negroe I have one negro bird I am triinge to give my children good education I
sent 5 to chool last year I am sending 2 this year,
Samuel I want you to right to me as sone as you git this I have riten several times to you and the girls and
Thomas E Scarbrough I got one from Thomas E and one directed to me and Nash from you is all I ever got
So rite soon we are ancious to here from you all no more at reesent.
