Notes for BENNIE DORIS REYNOLDS:
Mother was a hard worker. She tried things you would not expect a woman to do; of course she was an only girl in her family so she learned from her brothers. Mother grew a garden, raised hogs, chickens and caned the produce when we were growing up. We also had a cow, which she milked every day.
Grandma Guest lived with us after Aunt Grace died, she had a stroke and mother took care of her for a number of years. Daddy, Mother Alice and I with our five children went to Katherine's in 1974 and we put grandma in the hospital while we were gone. Mother was so tried that she slept most of the time we were gone. Grandma was carried back home. I told mother that was not going to work, Alice and I put grandma in the nursing home with daddy fussing al the time. When she was in the home for a time he decided that she did a lot better there. We had a good childhood. Daddy carried us girls on trips when he was driving an eighteen wheeler. He took mother and Frances some when she was little. Grandma Guest staid with us while they were gone.

Notes for ORAL VANDORN GUEST:
He played football in Cotton Plant and Warren. Loved to fish and played with us girls as we grew up. Enjoyed croquet, got a thrill out of knocking out balls off the court, and enjoyed fishing. Oral loved to deep sea fish in Florida. He enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Daddy used to take us on trips with him when he was driving an eighteen wheeler. He liked to take us to the river fishing and dinner on the fourth of July.
It is interesting to take note that Oral was named after Major General Earl Van Dorn who led the attack on the federal fortifications at Corinth Mississippi in October 1862 during the civil war.
He has a foot amputated resulting from complications related to do diabetes. He was a Southern Baptist and resided in Pennington, and Bradley County in 1930 census.
